Photography Exhibition

Exhibition featuring photographs by Ms. Matenia Sakkari and Mr. Tasos Biris related to climate change, fires, floods, and local resilience.

The exhibition is aimed at the general public and will be open throughout the day.

Parallel Morning Events (10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.)

Virtual Reality (VR) Experience

In collaboration with the youth organization System and G and volunteers from Greece and abroad, students and young people participate in educational activities involving VR simulations of natural disasters.
Educational program with virtual reality (VR) glasses, where participants experience simulations of natural disasters (fires, floods, earthquakes) and learn how to respond and protect themselves.

Creative Writing

In collaboration with Ms. Vassiliki Stroli's "Reading and Creative Writing" workshop («Φιλαναγνωσία-Δημιουργική Γραφή»), students create poems and stories on the theme of resilience. The pieces will be exhibited in a special area of the festival.

The morning parallel events are aimed at young people and students.

Documentary Screening & Storytelling (7:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m.)

Part A: Screening of the documentary “We Will Grow” by Ms. Areti Pagoulatou. The documentary presents how the community of Rhodes, Greece experienced the major fires of 2023 and follows residents who volunteered to help fight them.

Part B: Storytelling. This is an activity in which people who have experienced natural disasters share their personal experiences with the audience. At the same time, expert scientists provide commentary and guidance on how to deal with extreme weather events, with the aim of informing people about how to respond and protect themselves.
